The show’s executive producer promises an ‘emotional’ roller coaster, with a cliffhanger that will leave you ‘screaming.’
With only one more episode left until The Lying Game‘s mid-season finale March 12, Emma (Alexandra Chando) is running out of people she can trust. So HollywoodLife.com went to the one person we know we can trust — the show’s executive producer Chuck Pratt Jr. — to get some of our burning questions answered, and to find out what we can expect from the final two episodes of the run.
Will Ethan Choose Emma Over His Family?
Emma suspects Ted (Andy Buckley) could be connected to Theresa’s death, which certainly won’t sit will with Theresa’s almost-brother-in-law, Ethan (Blair Redford).
“Ethan is going to surprise us by the way he has to choose between family and Emma,” Chuck teases. “His choice, and his level of emotion — I can promise you’ll see him cry in the next two episodes — is going to shock us. He’s not just a handsome, romantic hunk; he’s also got feelings. Real feelings.”
Ethan? Real feelings? I’m already shocked!
Sutton Finally Picks A Side
The curly-haired twin has been doing some serious flip-flopping this season, but it sounds like she’ll finally settle on a side — and we won’t see it coming.
“Sutton is going to surprise you by the turn she takes,” Chuck says. “It’s not a fake turn, which most of her turns have been. It’s an honest turn that pretty much blows everybody away, especially Emma.”
The Love Triangle Leads To ‘Fireworks’
Regardless of which twins you think Emma and Thayer (Christian Alexander) belong with, Chuck promises we’ll be getting our fill of love-triangle drama for quite some time.
“I promise huge emotions in the next episode,” he says. “What it does to Ethan and Emma is the biggest and best of it all. Lives are at stake — as usual — which is what we like best. What that secret does in the next two episodes between Ethan, Emma and Thayer … you can’t predict it. Expect real fireworks. … That’s not a triangle that’s going to go away overnight.”
Rebecca’s ‘Desperate’ Final Act
“She’s going to resort to more desperate measures,” Chuck says of the twins’ menacing mother (Charisma Carpenter.) “She’s got the whole world against her, and she will find herself more and more manipulated, as opposed to being the manipulator. She’s going to find herself in a dire situation — accused of things, framed, you name it — but in the last act [of the finale], she turns it around in a big way.”
How Will It All End?
The Lying Game never fails to deliver perfect cliffhangers, and Chuck says the mid-season finale’s ending might be its biggest yet.
“We’ll have a fantastic cliffhanger, and everyone will be screaming for a resolution,” he hints. “At that moment, just about everyone is involved. I use the term ‘colliding trains’ as narrative device — the idea being that all the trains on all the tracks come together and collide — and that’s how we choreographed this cliffhanger. They may not all be in the same room, but it all comes together.”
HollywoodLifers, how do you hope/predict the finale will end? What last trick could Rebecca have up her sleeve? And who will each twin end up with? Drop a comment with your thoughts and theories!
