Taylor, although you didn’t speak on the record about your breakup with Harry, you did authorize a source to explain the real reason why you split and I’m so proud of you for standing up for yourself!
Taylor Swift, you really are such a role model. You opened up in the April issue of Vanity Fair about your relationship with Harry Styles and it makes total sense why you decided to end the relationship and I’m so happy that you wouldn’t tolerate him cheating on you, because so many girls stay with men who cheat!
Taylor I’m Glad You’re Speaking Out
Taylor, even though you wouldn’t allow yourself to be quoted in Vanity Fair talking about Harry, you did authorize a source. I know from experience that this means you approved the quotes before they were published. The source says that you couldn’t trust Harry and that: “[he] disappeared one night and after that it was like he just didn't want to keep going.”
The source adds that someone showed you a photograph of Harry kissing another girl while you two were together, and that even though you took him back, you eventually dumped him because you couldn’t trust him. Good for you Taylor! I’m happy to learn this because so many girls stay with men who constantly cheat on them. You are setting a good example for all girls by saying you you won’t stand for someone disrespecting you.
Now maybe Harry, 19, wasn’t ready for a mature relationship even though he said he was. You are also four years older at the ripe old age of 23, and have been juggling fame and a private life since 2006. Although it’s unfortunate that he broke your heart in the process, you have learned a valuable lesson, never settle!
You also stood of yourself again when you said that you don’t see a problem writing about your exes and your past relationships. You said: “For a female to write about her feelings, and then be portrayed as some clingy, insane, desperate girlfriend in need of making you marry her and have kids with her, I think that's taking something that potentially should be celebrated—a woman writing about her feelings in a confessional way—that's taking it and turning it and twisting it into something that is frankly a little sexist.”
It’s so good for you to not allow people’s opinions to change your own. It’s wonderful to hear you have no regrets when it comes to your music!
Taylor, you are one strong woman, and a heck of a role model.
