Dzhokhar has recovered enough from his gunshot wounds to be transferred from hospital to a federal medical center.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the surviving member of the sibling duo that set off multiple bombs at the Boston Marathon finish line on April 15, has been transferred from the hospital to prison. The U.S. Marshals Service said that he left Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in the early hours of April 26 and was taken to the Federal Medical Center Devens about 40 miles west of Boston.
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev Imprisoned
Dzhokhar admitted to authorities from his hospital bed that he and his older brother Tamerlan were behind the attack. He admitted to the crime April 21 and was officially charged April 22.
Now he has been transferred to the prison where other inmates include former NYPD officer William Masso, former New Jersey assemblyman Daniel Van Pelt and one time underworld mafia boss John Franzese, 96, reports the Mail Online.
It is a minimum security facility, on the decommissioned Fort Devens U.S. Army base, and it treats federal prisoners and detainees who require specialized long-term medical or mental health care.
Dzhokhar is still unable to speak after he was shot in the throat, so he will need long term medical care.
Dzhokhar faced a magistrate judge while still in his hospital bed, according to the Boston Globe. He was charged with conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction against persons and property in the U.S., resulting in death, as well as one count of malicious destruction of property by means of an explosive device, also resulting in death.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are you relieved to hear the Dzhokhar is in prison?
