The NASCAR driver is officially divorced. After filing back in January, Danica Patrick’s divorce from husband of seven years, Paul Hospenthal, was finalized on April 17.
NASCAR star and GoDaddy spokesperson Danica Patrick announced on her Facebook page that she was splitting from Paul Hospenthal on Nov. 20. However, the couple filed for the divorce on Jan. 3 in the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County. Now, three months later, the divorce is finalized, ESPN reports.

Just two days after signing the consent forms, Danica’s seven-year marriage was officially over on April 17. Danica, 31, cited an “irretrievably broken” marriage with Paul after the two mutually decided to split.
“I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage,” Danica wrote on her Facebook page on November 20. “This isn’t easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that’s how we will remain moving forward.”
Danica met Paul, a physical therapist, 16 years her senior, after suffering a hip injury and having to visit his office for consultation. They were married in 2005.

In February, Danica became the first woman to win the Daytona 500 pole. When opening up to Men’s Health about her big win, she went off topic, confessing about a new relationship — just a month after she filed for divorce — with fellow NASCAR driver, Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
“Well, I don't think I thought it was a good idea,” she said about dating someone she works with. “There was nothing I could do about it. You can't tell your heart who to like and not like. It just happened. Ricky and I … respect each other on the track. I don't see any reason for that to change.”
NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski added that it would be “more compelling” if the two split and then took it out on each other on the track!
“Imagine if they were to break up and then wreck each other the next six races because they’re mad,” Brad said, laughing.
“It’s like the Capulets and Montagues with Chevy and Ford,” Danica added.
On April 18, the day after the divorce finalizing, Danica tweeted about Ricky, 25. “My lovely @StenhouseJr took me to dinner and a movie. #painandgain is worth a trip to the theater!”
