There were two explosions at the Boston marathon on April 15, and in the aftermath of the horrific crime the police and the FBI have been combing the crime scene in downtown Boston. There were initial reports that this was an act of terrorism and that there were many undetonated devices still planted around city, but this is NOT true. Read on for all the details.
Boston Explosions – No Extra Bombs Were Planted At The Marathon
“There were reports that there were seven unexploded devices still lying around the city, but that is not true,” said a state official on April 16. “There were only two devices, and they were the ones that went off.”
“There are no known additional threats.”
Well thank god for that.
The officials said that assistance from the public remains critical, and that the FBI is logically following up on a series of leads. There is a high volume of evidence and leads, and thirty forensic experts at currently at the scene, combing for evidence. They also worked through the night conducting interviews.
A state official also promised to find out “who did this, and why.”
Boston Police think the attack was an act of terrorism. CNN called the tragedy a “well-planned event.”
CBS News reports that police are now looking at surveillance video showing someone carrying multiple backpacks into the area about 20 minutes before explosions.
Three other devices have been found and dismantled.
