Kristen Stewart, you almost experienced your worst nightmare at Coachella on April 12 – having a face-to-face confrontation with Rupert Sander’s estranged wife, Liberty Ross.
Kristen Stewart – you and Robert Pattinson have commendably repaired your relationship, but you have never had any closure with Liberty Ross.
Kristen, You Almost Came Face-To-Face With Liberty
Liberty, 34, of course, is the estranged wife of your ex-lover Rupert Sanders, the director of Snow White and The Huntsman.
She was deeply hurt by her husband’s betrayal and ultimately filed for divorce, believing that her marriage was beyond repair.
Now, Liberty is dating American Idol mentor and co-founder of Interscope Records, Jimmy Iovine, and the pair were enjoying the Coachella music festival, this past weekend, just like you and Rob.
It was there, that an awkward encounter was barely avoided between you and Liberty.
You came within several feet of running into each other, according to a new report in UK’s The Sun.
If the timing was just slightly different, you two would have seen each other face-to-face for the first time since the cheating episode. Talk about the ultimate awkward moment!
Kristen, A Run-In Is Inevitable
Now Kristen, I have to be honest with you – Hollywood is not that big a place. And you and Liberty both have long lives ahead of you.
You are both beautiful, talented and sensitive women who live professionally in the world of entertainment – you as an actress and Liberty as a model and actress.
It’s inevitable that at some point you two will end up at the same event or restaurant or party. You have to be prepared – that will happen.
Unfortunately, until that moment occurs, there’s really nothing you can do to defuse the situation.
At one point, immediately following the discovery of the cheating, there were unsubstantiated reports that you planned to write a letter of apology to Liberty. But I don’t believe that ever happened. It probably wouldn’t have been a good idea anyway.
You made a terrible mistake when you got involved with Rupert, but your chief responsibility was to your own boyfriend, Rob. You needed to apologize and make peace with the man that you loved and betrayed, and you did that.
In Liberty’s situation, it was Rupert’s responsibility to apologize to his wife and try to repair their marriage. Clearly, he didn’t do a good enough job of that or their marriage was already too damaged to survive the cheating episode.
Liberty herself had admitted in earlier interviews that her marriage had its’ challenges, and that was before the cheating.
Kristen, Just Keep Avoiding Liberty Ross
The bottom line Kristen, is that it was best that you didn’t reach out to Liberty to try to apologize.
She wouldn’t have wanted to talk to you – it would have been too painful and uncomfortable for both of you.
I doubt that she really blames you for ending her marriage. Your affair was just the catalyst which set off the inevitable. Any contact with you would not have helped heal her wounds.
Now, though, you have to accept that the two of you may end up being in the same place at the same time again in the future.
My advice to you Kristen, is to do your best to avoid her, if you are in the same vicinity.
If you go to a party and hear that she is already there, then leave. Ditto if you go to the same restaurant – discreetly exit.
Don’t put yourself or Liberty into an uncomfortable and embarrassing position. You don’t want a confrontation and neither does she. There’s absolutely nothing to be gained by you and Liberty meeting again at this point, or ever.
Kristen, you’ve handled the aftermath of your mistaken affair maturely and responsibly in every way so far.
Rob’s renewed love for you, is proof of that.
