A spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Steve Coleman, revealed in an email that the central terminal building (Terminal D) at LaGuardia Airport in New York City was evacuated on April 16. Port Authority Police Department's Emergency Services Unit and the New York City Police Department's bomb squad are now on the scene after a suspicious package was found.
LaGuardia Airport Evacuated
The FAA issued a ground stop, prohibiting all planes from flying, until at least noon EDT on April 16, according to Bloomberg News.
Multiple reports on Twitter confirm the terminal has been evacuated.
The NYC airport was evacuated one day after two explosions rocked Boston during their annual marathon.
