Being in jail has not impeded Jodi’s art business at all! Facing death row, the accused murderer has uploaded a new piece to her website for sale. You won’t believe how much she’s selling it for!
Being held in jail while she stands trial for allegedly murdering her boyfriend, Jodi Arias has a ton of time on her hands. So to kill the time, she has worked on launching her career as a painter.
Jodi Arias Sells Hourglass Painting From Jail
On Apr. 9, Jodi uploaded her newest piece of art, called “Hourless.” The painting, drawn with graphite on acid-free archive paper, is a simple picture of an hourglass with sand slipping through it. Time passing away (while behind bars in Phoenix, Ari.) — how poetic.
Jodi explains the painting herself:
Some people say they have no regrets; I cannot count myself among them. When I step back and look at 'Hourless,' the concept of time running forward and backward is evoked. Rather than focus on all that I could and would do differently if I could hop a train to the past, I remember the lessons and carry what I've learned into the future.
We wonder what exactly Jodi has learned from the past, and what she will carry to the future.
Jodi Arias: Making A Fortune Off Her Paintings
More shocking than the fact that Jodi is being allowed to paint pictures a sell them from a jail cell is how much she’s selling them for. “Hourless” is modestly priced at a whopping $2,000. Additionally, a portrait of Grace Kelly drawn by Jodi sold for $3,050 on eBay.
Jodi’s definitely striking while the iron’s hot — if she had waited for time to “run forward,” she might’ve missed the opportunity to pull down such huge prices for her amateur sketches. So… good for her?
