Congratulations are in order! After four years of dating, Slade and Gretchen are finally engaged, and she’s the one who popped the question!
Whether or not Gretchen Rossi, 34,and her longtime boyfriend, Slade Smiley, ,will ever tie the knot has been a main storyline on Real Housewives of Orange County. It looks like there will be a RHOC wedding in the future, because the couple is finally heading to the altar!
Gretchen Rossi Popped The Question
On April 14, Gretchen proposed to Slade in a romantic proposal in Los Angeles that will air on an upcoming episode of RHOC, Us Weekly confirms. Previously, Gretchen has made it clear that she doesn’t mind being the one to propose. “A guy doesn’t always have to do it,” Gretchen has said.
“They’re really happy about getting married,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Gretchen always does everything out of the box, so no one is too surprised she was the one who proposed. She really wants kids with Slade, so that was a big motivator.”
In a previous interview, Gretchen gushed about her husband-to-be, “Spiritually, emotionally, mentally and physically, [Slade and I] connect on every level. He supports me, loves me and is so unselfish. I just feel like the luckiest girl in the world.”
On the show, the couple have fought a lot about when or if they will ever get married. Gretchen didn’t want to marry Slade until he had his finances in order. His new gig as a radio host must have done the trick, because Gretchen finally gave the green light to get married!
