Who will get the cure? Which brother will Elena choose? We’ve got fresh scoop from the final ‘Vampire Diaries’ episode of season four!
Death is in the air on the May 16 season finale of The Vampire Diaries! The CW just released its official description of the episode, and it sounds like Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is going to have an especially life-threatening day, as “Mystic Falls is overrun with ghosts intent on settling old scores.” According to the network, “Damon’s life is in danger after a ghostly encounter!”
But the ghostly madness doesn’t stop there.
There’s apparently one ghost “determined to find the cure,” which leads to Matt (Zach Roerig) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) joining forces in battle. I would have preferred them joining forces in the bedroom, but hey, I’ll take what I can get.
Meanwhile, Stefan (Paul Wesley) “discovers a horrifying clue to the mystery surrounding Silas,” which really just sounds terrible.
As for Elena (Nina Dobrev), Katherine and Bonnie (Kat Graham)… well, the description doesn’t mention any of them! So it’s anyone’s guess at this point.

Nina recently gave Vampire Diaries fans their first look at the epic finale — the graduation part of it, anyway — with a picture she posted to her WhoSay account.
And thanks to executive producer Julie Plec, we also know the Damon-Elena-Stefan love triangle is going to come to an end — at least for a little while.
“It will definitely set all three of them on a very different and interesting path when we move forward,” she told HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine.
