A female’s DNA was allegedly found on at least one of the bombs that exploded during Boston’s Marathon on April 15. Did it come from Tamerlan Tsarnaev's widow, Katherine Russell?
In a strange turn of events, FBI agents reportedly visited the family home of Boston Marathon bomber widow Katherine Russell on April 29 after they allegedly found female DNA on at least one of the bombs. There may be no connection at all, but the new DNA finding could potentially back up former CIA Operative Robert Baer’s theory that the suspects, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Katherine’s husband Tamerlan Tsarnaev, didn’t act alone.
Woman’s DNA On Boston Bomb
FBI investigators were allegedly seen leaving Katherine’s family’s Rhode Island home with a plastic bag with “DNA” printed on the side. But according to an official close to the case, as reported by The Wall Street Journal, there could be many reasons why a female’s DNA was found on one of the bombs.
For example, a store employee could have handled materials used in the bombs or a stray hair could have been found on the device.
After the search, officials "followed Katherine and she got into her white car. We assume she went to her lawyer's office," a neighbor says. "We still don't know what is going on. We are just witnessing everything as it unfolds."
"The FBI is there as part of our ongoing investigation," Supervisory Special Agent Jason Pack told CNN. He would not reveal further details.
Katherine denies having any involvement with her husband’s plans to bomb the marathon.
