Thought nothing about the future of ‘Glee’ is official yet, a source close to production tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively what Lea Michele plans to do, following Cory Monteith’s death.
Since the news of Cory Monteith’s death broke, we couldn’t help but wonder how Lea Michele would ever recover from this devastating loss. More specifically, how would Lea continue on Glee without the other half of “Finchel.”
Lea Michele Leaving ‘Glee’?
Glee has always been about “Finchel,” so it’s hard to imagine a series without the onscreen power couple. However, a source close to the series told HollywoodLife.com exclusively:
“Lea is not leaving Glee. Everyone is going to take things lightly as the first few days back on set are going to be an emotional roller coaster. But producers are wrapping their heads around all aspects of how to move the show forward and will respect Lea’s wishes in their hopes to make the show as special moving forward as it was in the past. They are family and they will all get through it together. Being together on the show should actually be a godsend.”
While we’re happy to hear that the Glee cast will lean on each other during this devastating time, continuing the series without Finn will surely be a difficult task for everyone involved.
Rachel & Finn’s Romance Was The Backbone To The Series
Finn and Rachel's romance began on the pilot and has remained one of the backbones of the long-running series ever since, even when they aren’t together. Rachel may have her Broadway dreams to focus on at the moment, but she loved Finn so much that she was willing to put her musical goals on hold and stay with him in Ohio, following their high school graduation.
Furthermore, they recently slept together after Will and Emma’s first attempted wedding, giving fans hope that the couple would soon reconcile. Finn even told Rachel that she was his “endgame,” no matter how long it took.
They shared their final scene in the season four episode, “Sweet Dreams,” where Finn and Rachel shared an emotional phone call (video below).
Losing Finn will change Rachel in ways. We can’t even imagine how the writers are going to tackle this devastating situation.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? How should Glee handle Cory’s death?
