Before 13-year-old Talia’s tragic death on July 16, the young cancer patient planned of launching a fashion line. Cancer survivor and fashion designer Urbana Chappa vows to help make the inspiring girl’s dreams come true after her death.
The harrowing death of Talia Joy Castellano, 13, from cancer saddened the millions of people who were inspired by her vibrant personality and brave outlook on life. But her legacy will live on in a fashion line she was designing with cancer survivor and LA-based fashion designer Urbana Chappa called That Bald Chick.
Talia Joy’s Fashion Line — Designed That Bald Chick With Cancer Survivor
Talia wanted to “show young teens that they can express themselves with clothes,” she told Mail Online. The YouTube beauty guru and honorary CoverGirl wanted to expand her love of beauty and fashion into her own clothing line.
Her story touched Urbana, who designs a clothing line called Maison De Urbana, and saw her story on Ellen. The duo teamed up in April of this year to design a fashion line, just months before Talia’s tragic death. The fashion designer flew to see the young teen in Orlando after she discovered the 13-year-old was interested in fashion design.
“Even though she was sick in the hospital, we made the best of our time. She’s so full of life that it’s hard for me to imagine that she has cancer,” Urbana told Mail Online after the visit. “We talked, sketched, worked on her line. My heart hurts to know that she has to go through this and that she had so much she wants to do and accomplish. I wanted nothing more to keep her legacy alive.”
The result was a fashion line titled That Bald Chick, which Urbana is working hard to get into Target stores.

Urbana had been on a Twitter campaign for months to get the clothing line into Target, but after Talia’s death, she was on a mission to make the message go viral. She tweeted:
@TheEllenShow please help talia get into #Target #targetfortalia it was her dream to have her collection in the store!!
Her tweets were retweeted hundreds of times. She ensured her little angel that her dream would come true, and later tweeted, “love you baby girl @TaliaJoy18. Your legacy lives on, and the world will be wearing your line soon! I’ll make sure.”
Urbana, who was clearly touched by Talia’s inspiring life, told HollywoodLife.com in a statement:
Talia will always be a magical little girl with a spirit that can light up the entire world. She taught me the true meaning of ‘living life to the fullest.’ I was honored to know her and will miss her dearly.
We can’t wait to buy Talia’s clothing line in stores, and hope her legacy lives on through her beautiful designs and cheery videos. What do YOU think of her fashion line, HollyMoms? Will you buy it?
