Jane Lynch is nothing like her ‘Glee’ character Sue Sylvester, as she broke down on ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ talking about Cory, and how he was ‘a really great guy.’

The world is still in shock over the sad death of Cory Monteith, and his Glee co-star Jane Lynch spoke out about the tragic news on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She became emotional as she said that Cory was a “real bright light,” and that he was a “real giver.” Watch the touching video here.

Jane Lynch Talks About Cory Monteith

Cory, 31, died from a mixture of heroin and alcohol on July 13, and like many of his co-stars, Jane spoke about her grief.

“Cory’s one of the biggest hearts, was a real bright light. He was one of those guys that…you know, he knew he was breathing rarified air…the gifts that this wonderful show gave us,” she told Jay Leno.

“He was always aware that it was a gift and he was quite generous. He was one of those adventurous types of those people. I always admired how he would get up…you know, he would fly to Mexico, he’d throw parties for his friends. I don’t think he left one day unlived. He was a real bright light in our family and we’ve lost a really great guy.”

When Jay asked Jane how would Cory liked to be remembered, she recalled a touching memory.

“He once flew across the country on his own nickel to meet with a sick kid [whose] last wish was to meet him. That’s just the kind of guy he was. Just a real giver.”

Cory was truly a great guy, and he will never be forgotten.

‘Glee’ Stars React To Cory’s Death

Jane is not the only one to react to Cory’s sad death, as we know that Lea Michele is beyond devastated, and his other co-stars have released statements also:

Naya Rivera"Cory was and always will be a part of my own family and a good friend,” she said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. “He was a special part of this world and will forever be missed. My heart goes out to Cory’s family and Lea and while we are grateful for everyone's well wishes, privacy during this time of grief is greatly appreciated."

Mike O’Malley: ”Cory Monteith was a great guy; Funny, deep, thoughtful, and hardworking,” he said. “In real life, he was the coolest dude, generous, and a great friend to his pals. If an ability to show others kindness and fostering fellowship are two qualities that all humans should strive for, Cory mastered them long before he died. He deserved a long life. His death has rocked all of us at Glee.”

Dianna Agron: “I have never lost a friend. In this difficult time, I am leaning on all of the wonderful memories we shared with Cory, how many ways he was able to make us smile. Glee was a gift to all of us. It gave us a family in this industry. We really cut our teeth and grew up on this show. In playing underdogs, we learned that we had dug into the hearts of our viewers and that we could stay there.”

“Cory is so deserving of that place in everyone's hearts. He was one of the most generous and kind people that I have ever met. He had a smart, curious mind, he was an enormous talent. He was loving to not only me, but my family. My heart goes out to his family, to Lea, to everyone that is struggling with the loss of our friend. We will miss you Cory. We will always carry a piece of you with us.”

This is all truly heartbreaking. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jane and everyone affected by Cory’s death during this sad time.
