The Duchess, (and new mommy!), looked lovely while showing off her new bundle of joy — her beautiful baby boy! We love the way she opted for a blue polka dot outfit for the occasion. It was touching tribute to Princess Diana, who also wore polka dots when she debuted Prince William on the same exact steps 31 years ago. What did you think of her outfit?
Kate Middleton and Prince William finally welcomed their royal baby boy into the world on July 22 — and the Duchess looked divine while doing so! The Royal couple color-coordinated, wearing blue outfits while showing off their newborn son. Kate showed off her baby on the steps of St. Mary’s Hospital on July 23, allowing the world to get their first look at the royal baby — and the new mommy was, of course, camera ready for the occasion! Kate selected a baby blue, polka dot dress and sported one of her signature blowouts for the special day. As always, she looked appropriate and effortlessly chic — and the couple looked so excited and happy to share their newborn with the world!
Kate Middleton’s Dress After Baby:
We think it’s so sweet that Kate wore polka dots for her first official appearance, especially since Princess Diana also wore a polka dot dress when she stood on the exact same steps 31 years ago with Prince William in her arms. She also wore her blue engagement ring — it was such a nice tribute to Prince William’s late mother! William also wore a blue striped shirt which matched his wife’s outfit.
Despite the fact that Kate just gave birth yesterday she looked so stylish on the steps before ducking into a Range Rover and driving off with her husband and baby. Kate and William were all smiles — we’re so excited for them!
How Princess Diana Welcomed William:
Princess Diana posed for pictures with her newborn baby, Prince William, in 1982, just days after giving birth. On the day Princess Diana and Prince Charles posed with baby William, Diana donned a green and white polka dot frock that flowed around her figure. The dress featured a low collar and had a loose bow tied at the neckline. She finished off the chic ensemble with a pair of comfy yet stylish burgundy ballet flats. Diana actually recycled her dress for this occasion! She first donned this frock just two weeks prior when she attended an engagement in Angelesey, which now belongs to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Prince William was christened in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace on August 4, 1982. The ceremony was given by Dr. Robert Runcie, the Archbishop of Canterbury.
