Prince Charles is one proud grandfather — and he finally got to meet his new grandson! Joined by wife Camilla, the pair made a visit to St. Mary’s Hospital on July 23, just a day after the royal baby was born!
Kate Middleton, 31, and Prince William, 31, may be new parents, but they’re getting all of the support that they need from their families! Just a little while after Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton left their daughter’s side, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla arrived at the Lindo Wing of the London hospital at 5:30 p.m. GMT in grand fashion — via helicopter, after carrying out his official duties in Yorkshire.
Prince Charles and Camilla Visit The Royal Baby
Although the current heir to the throne stayed pretty mum about his new grandson, he did say that “you’ll see the baby in a minute” as he was leaving St. Mary’s — and we can’t wait to see the little guy!
Prince Charles and Camilla were smiling and beaming as they left the hospital, and were no doubt thrilled to have met His Royal Highness the Prince of Cambridge.
Prince Charles Releases Statement About Royal Baby
The day before he got to visit his grandson, Prince Charles released a statement expressing his joy for the new baby boy. He said on July 22:
Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy. Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone's life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.
We love that Prince Charles an Camilla got to see the new royal baby — we just can’t wait until we can!
