His Royal Highness the Prince was regally presented — and even gave a happy royal wave along with his parents Kate Middleton and Prince William. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge presented their wonderful baby boy at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on July 23, like Will’s parents Princess Diana and Prince Charles just a generation before.
His Royal Highness The Prince Is Born: Makes Public Debut At St. Mary’s Hospital
His Royal Highness the Prince was born on July 22 at 4:24 p.m. local time in the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London. He made his first public appearance outside on the steps of the same hospital on July 23 just after 7 p.m. local time.
Mother Kate Middleton went into labor early that morning and was driven to the hospital by husband Prince William before 6 a.m. local time — without a police escort. When the young family left the hospital, it was once again Prince William behind the wheel — he packed up the baby in a car seat and drove his wife and newborn home to Kensington Palace.
The Great Royal Baby Countdown
After reporters, news crews, and baby-watchers spent upwards of three weeks camped outside of St. Mary’s, waiting for news of the baby’s arrival. Even Prince William acknowledged the Great Kate Wait!:
I’ll remind him of his tardiness when he’s a bit older. I know how long you’ve all been sat out here, hopefully the hospital and you guys can all get back to normal now and we can look after him.
His candid remarks and the little prince’s smiling face made the wait worth it!
What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Are you excited for the new parents?
