Plus, Sookie makes a desperate deal with Bill. Is their icy relationship starting to thaw?
When someone dies in your bed, it’s customary to simply wash the sheets and carry on. But after the gruesome/melty death we witnessed on the July 28 episode of True Blood, I’m thinking Bill (Stephen Moyer) might want to just throw out his entire bed and start fresh.
I’m talking, of course, about Nora (Lucy Griffiths), who literally melted in her brother’s arms after being infected with Hep-V last week. Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) managed to escape Vamp Camp with his sister in tow, but even Billith’s blood couldn’t cure her of the fatal virus.
The look on Eric’s blood-stained face as he watched his sister die was heartbreaking, but more importantly, it was purposeful. Eric has more reason than ever before to hate the LAVDF — and I’ve got a feeling he’s about to do something VERY stupid.
Sookie, Post-Nookie
Meanwhile, fresh off their night of hot/glowing sex, Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Warlow (Rob Kazinsky) faced the reality of their situation. He, once again, asked her if she’d like to marry him; and she, once again, turned him down flat.
Luckily for Sookie, she had other matters to attend to — like comforting Arlene (Carrie Preston), who had to tell her three kids that Terry wouldn’t be coming home anymore. Sookie and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) figured out that Terry had set the murder up himself, but by the time they got back to Arlene, she was “f***ing wasted.” Oh well.
Sookie’s chat with Arlene was cut even shorter by day-walker Bill, who showed up to tell Sookie that if she didn’t agree to help him, all of their vampire friends would soon be dead. I’m not exactly sure what he wants her to do, but if it involves Warlow, things are bound to get complicated.
Jessica’s Mess-ica
Is Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) a serial cheater, or what? She asked Jason (Ryan Kwanten) to set up a meeting between her and James (Luke Grimes) to thank him for not having sex with her, and how does she thank him? By having sex with him! I know she thinks she’s going to die, and she just wanted to know what “all the fuss” over vampire sex was about, but that’s really no excuse. First Hoyt, now Jason… This lady is a tramp!
That said, I really like James, and I hope we see a lot more of him in the weeks to come. (And I do mean “more of him” in every sense of the phrase.) He’s got great hair, a lovely smile and he seems to be the first genuinely nice male vampire since Bill. Well, season one Bill, at least.
Sarah Newlin Goes Off The Deep End
We’ve always known that Sarah (Anna Camp) is a crazy bitch, but she took her insanity to new heights this week. After sharing a passionate kiss with Governor Burrell’s severed head, she assumed all of his power, and headed straight for Vamp Camp.
Her first deranged order of business? Cutting Jason’s wrist and sending him, bleeding, into the room full of female vampire prisoners. Tara tried to defend him, but it wasn’t until the mysterious Violet (Karolina Wydra) claimed Jason for herself that all the others backed down.
What’s her deal, anyway?
Odds & Ends
1. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) told his pack that Sam (Sam Trammell) and Big-Hair are dead, which would have been fine, except it was a lie. The pack had already kidnapped Big-Hair and her mom, proving Alcide to be a liar. Ruh-roh!
2. I think Pam (Kristin Bauer Van Straten) might have had sex with her therapist. She was definitely seducing him, and he was definitely looking like a horny Santa Claus, but did they really go all the way? I shudder at the thought.
3. Sookie’s interaction with Andy’s daughter was interesting, but was it more than just a random moment? As two of the only three fairies on the show now, I feel like Sookie and A.B.C.D. are bound to have more together in the future.
