Fresh from their panel at Comic-Con on July 21, the cast spilled the beans on what’s in store for the second half of season one, including whether or not Big Jim releases Angie from the bunker.

The cast of Under The Dome – Dean Norris (Big Jim), Mike Vogel (Barbie), Rachelle Lefevre (Julia) – as well as executive producers Brian K. Vaughan, Neal Bear and Jack Bender previewed what’s to come for Barbie and Julia, why Junior’s a psycho and the season finale’s “hell of a cliffhanger” at the San Diego Comic-Con on July 21.

‘Under The Dome’ Spoilers — Episode 5 Preview

During the panel, the audience was shown episode five, which airs July 22. Keep reading for very mild spoilers. However, if you don’t want to be spoiled, skip over this section.

The Chester’s Mill inhabitants, who are trapped under the dome, get to enjoy “Visitor’s Day.” The military brings outsiders up to the dome to see their loved ones. Junior’s breaking in his new badge, as he’s now on the police force. Big Jim has to figure out what to do about Angie in the bunker now that he knows she’s there. Julia learns more about what was going on with her husband, Peter. Norrie learns that her mother lied about something major. Plus, a new threat looms.

‘Under The Dome’: What’s To Come

The cast reveals that in the next few episodes, we’ll get an “Adam and Eve” moment with Barbie and Julia, we’ll learn more about why Junior is such a psycho (hint: he gets it from his mom), and we’ll see Big Jim leave Angie in the bunker, at least for a little bit.

Furthermore, in episode seven, we’ll find out how deep the dome is, and whether or not it’s a sphere.

Brian talked about how Stephen King, the book’s author, intended for UTD to span years. Stephen wanted Brian to use the TV experience to take the story and characters where he couldn’t.

‘Under The Dome’ Season 2?

The cast and crew are currently shooting the season finale right now and it ends with “a hell of a cliffhanger,” so they’re hoping to get picked up for a second season. (Well, that puts to rest all the speculation that UTD would only serve as a mini-series.)

No One Is Safe

Oh, and most importantly, Brian pointed out that no one on this show is safe. Stephen King encouraged producers to change the adaptation from book to screen. So if you read the book and think you know what’s coming, you don’t!
