So sad and shocking. A new report claims the ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star is reeling after one of her children was found naked in the middle of the street in the midst of a mental breakdown.
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards has had her fair share of personal struggles — unfortunately now it seems that her inner demons have been passed down. One of her children was reportedly put on involuntary psychiatric hold after the young adult suffered a shocking, traumatic breakdown.
Kim Richards’ Child Placed On Involuntary Psychiatric Hold
Neighbors found the Richards child in the middle of the neighborhood street, naked and speaking incoherently, according to Radar Online. The incident occurred in July; Radar has chosen not to disclose which of Kim’s four children — Brooke, 27, Whitney, 21, Chad, 20, and Kimberly, 18 — suffered the breakdown.
A source close to the family reportedly reveals that the neighbors “called police in July after Kim's child was naked in the street, and talking gibberish.” Upon their arrival at the scene, police allegedly deemed the child to be a danger to themselves and others, and was taken to a hospital and placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold for 72 hours.
“This has stunned Kim and rocked her family,” the source told Radar Online.
Kim Richards’ Struggles Mount
This is just another traumatic, heart-wrenching, and flat-out scary episode for Kim. The 48-year-old reality star completed her third stint in rehab in January 2012, and her struggles with addiction and an eating disorder have been well-documented on RHOBH.
But it must hurt even worse to see one of her children struggle so mightily.
Kim’s family — Kyle Richards, who also stars on the hit Bravo series – has reportedly rallied around her since the devastating July incident. “They have been a very strong source of support and comfort during this latest crisis,” the source said. “Kim and [her child] are being looked after, and will come through this. It won’t be easy, but they have each other, and that is all that matters.”
