Sleek and chic are two words that summed up the theme on the runway as the looks were unpolished but oozed confidence! We think both Kristen Stewart and Kate Bosworth would look perfect in these clothes — tell us what you think!
It is definitely a great year for Peter Som as it was announced that he has partnered with Kohl's department store to create high-end but accessible looks for Spring 2014. His clothes did not disappoint when his models walked down the runway on Sept. 6 during New York Fashion Week. His ability to mix masculinity with femininity in his aesthetic was awe inspiring — he continues to amaze us!
Peter Som Spring 2014:
The edgy and cool show was in the Meatpacking District of NYC — what better place to see fierce style? The audience viewed the gorgeous looks, where style and a downtown vibe were combined — the messy, but modern looks would make any girl want to wear this collection! Kristen Stewart and Kate Bosworth both exude confidence and would rock this collection — very fashion forward!
The collection stayed away from using a diverse color palate, and instead stuck with primary colors: blue, black, and white. What really caught our eye was that Peter Som‘s collection featured multiple crop tops — the midriff shirt is back for yet another season!
Cool crop tops were a big staple in this show, and our favorite was paired with a flared mini skirt, perfect for Kristen Stewart — we all know Kristen likes to be comfortable! The masculine vibe of this outfit paired with Kristen's "I don't care" attitude is what defines this collection. This look was not overly feminine, as the dark colors paired with flats really made the look seem effortless — and the little bit of skin really topped off the chic look. We could see Kristen wearing this look at any time of the day!
Though there are many bold colors in this collection, we can't forget that Som added some amazing white pieces that definitely worked well with the different looks. Our favorite was a white crisscross dress that had a few touches of black lines, which balanced the soft, white color. The straight lines on the piece really create a strong and modern image. We think this piece would be ah-mazing on Kate Bosworth – it even has some sex appeal with the exposed midriff! She would look fabulous, and would rock this laid back style like no other.
