In a see a neutrals, pales and bronze for Spring/Summer 2014, Nicole Miller shocked with bold, berry lips by MAC, girly milkmaid braids and glittery nails by butter LONDON. HollywoodLife.com spoke EXCLUSIVELY to the artists backstage — check out the inspiration below!
Nicole Miller Runway — Glitter Nails Rule
Nails were designed by butter LONDON’s Global Colour Ambassador Katie Jane Hughes.
According to butter: “The collection was inspired by the opulence, glamour and beauty of Versailles – the gardens, mirrors, mazes and chandeliers.”
Katie spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELYabout the look as she demonstrated on herself:
To start, layer the gold first (The 444) and then paint black (The Black Knight) starting at the tip and blend into the middle of the nail. It’s a strong, elegant, confident nail.
The look is inspired by the mazes in the gardens of Versailles, and the chandeliers. The nails are very cool and trendy — the ombré trend is massive and this is an easy way to do it!
Bold, Berry Lips By MAC
Strong berry lips made a statement on the runway. The bold look was created by James Kalirdos for MAC.
He told us the inspiration was Marie Antoinette, 18th century French, rebellion. To get the look, apply MAC Lip Pencil in Vino all over the lip. Add MAC’s Violetta lipstick on top.
Hair was in messy, romantic, milkmaid braids. Romantic updos completed the look.
I loved the berry lips with the braids — I could totally see this look (and maybe I already have) on Florence Welch. But I was really obsessed with the nails — super trendy but versatile and glam!
