Prabal Gurung once again wow’d me with his Spring 2014 collection. We all knew it would be a show to remember when we gathered into the Post Office as the runway was scented and lined with plastic — and then it just got better when the stunning models stepped out.
As many are, I’m a huge fan of Prabal’s so I had extremely high expectations — and his new collection completely lived up to them. The show represented a fresh, new look that was the perfect combination of pastel panels and classy evening wear.

The set up of Prabal’s show was much different than usual as all the models — including the beautiful Karlie Kloss – entered the runway at the same time, into a plastic-looking curtain. They entered out from behind the curtain one by one, where you could immediately hear the gasps of amazement coming from the editors, fashionistsas and celebrities sitting along the outskirts.
“I like the idea of femininity with bite,” Prabal told Vogue after the show — and we agree!
The collection itself was beautiful. The runway was filled with dresses, pant suits and pencil skirts, of all colors — whether it was a baby blue off the shoulder fitted dress, or a red floral pencil skirt, paired with a sheer, mesh, paneled blouse, every piece was neat and perfectly tailored.
The makeup behind the show was flawless in itself. MAC cosmetics’ pastel lipstick was perfect — a good variety of red, orange and lilac lip colors filled the runway. For accessories, Prabal chose his collections of gorgeous Casadei pumps, Chris Habana accessories, and sunglasses by Linda Farrow. At first, I didn’t think sunglasses would go with the glamorous looks, but it was a great touch. Since the plastic curtains resembled a tad of a shower curtain, there was a water theme that seemed to flow throughout — even some of the jackets looked plastic, and the models hair was slicked back into a wet, sleek look.
One of my favorite things about the collection overall was the detailed embroidery, dramatic embellishments and unique cuts, that would work for many young stars. His lavender v-neck dress would be perfect for Taylor Swift — a perfect mixture of classy and sexy. Another cute detail — pocketed dresses. Since Jennifer Lawrence rocks Prabal to a lot of events, we could absolutely see her wearing his new high-neck floor-length gown, mostly black and white — Jennifer’s style, with a highlight of purple.
