Courtland Rogers Facing A Year In Jail After Jenelle Evans Files Charges Jan 25th 2013, 17:31 Jenelle’s lawyer Dustin R. T. Sullivan spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY to reveal why Jenelle says she can’t talk to Courtland — even though they are legally married — and the details of the misdemeanor charges she filed. Jenelle Evans filed charges against her husband Courtland Rogers on Jan. 23 alleging that he physically assaulted her and their unborn child. Jenelle’s attorney Dustin R. T. Sullivan spoke to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY and revealed the jail time Courtland faces for the charges. Dustin said Jenelle took out six charges in all against her husband. “Four counts of assault on a female, and two counts of battery on an unborn child,” Dustin told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. He added that it’s the highest level of misdemeanor charges in North Carolina — which could mean major jail time for Courtland. Courtland is “facing 150 days [in jail] on each count,” Dustin said, but that it also depends on his prior record. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Courtland was facing serious felony charges for “obtaining property by false pretenses” in December,  He was also arrested in 2010 in connection with a drug bust, but was never charged. Jenelle Evans Not Talking To Husband Courtland Rogers Jenelle revealed on Twitter that she hasn’t communicated with Courtland because she’s legally not allowed to after filing charges. Even though Dustin said he’s not 100 percent sure with this case if Jenelle can talk to Courtland, he said it’s typical for people not to legally be able to have any contact with the other party, even if they are married. Looks like if they aren’t talking, there’s a slim chance of a reconciliation. And Jenelle has been spending a lot of time with her ex Gary Head — whom, ironically, she filed assault charges against in the summer of 2012.
