Poor Taylor! After becoming single yet again, Taylor and her break-up songs have become the butt of many jokes, and it’s starting to take its toll on the country cutie.
Taylor Swift may have risen to fame for being a musical superstar, but in recent years, she has become more famous for her troubled love life. Since her latest breakup from Harry Styles, Taylor has been mocked on both Saturday Night Live and at the Golden Globes on Jan. 13. According to a new report, “the jokes being made about her love life embarrass her.”
Taylor’s Depression Over Her Love Life
Taylor and Harry’s split came as a surprise, and afterwards, Taylor found herself as the butt of a lot of jokes — particularly at the hands of Tina Fey at the Golden Globes. In front of a crowded audience, Tina told Taylor, "You stay away from Michael J. Fox's son!"
Taylor appeared embarrassed, and things became even worse when Michael very publicly dissed her, as he seems horrified at the idea of Taylor dating his son Sam Fox.
The Back To The Future star told Vulture, “No. No … Just back off. I don't keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career.”
Ouch! And it looks like Taylor is starting to feel the scrutiny.
"At first Taylor just thought it was funny how much interest people had in her love life and she went along with it," an insider tells RadarOnline.com. "But now she's the butt of jokes on Saturday Night Live, in the tabloids and on the late night shows. She laughed it off, but the jokes made about her at the Golden Globes got under her skin."
Taylor has had a lot of high-profile boyfriends, and none of them seemed to last very long. And when her relationships go pear shaped, she inevitably writes a song about it. While it’s great that Taylor can turn her heartache into a best selling single, the jokes have reportedly opened her eyes.
"The jokes being made about her love life embarrass her, but it's finally hit home with Taylor," the insider says. "She really wants to make an effort to slow down and not jump from boyfriend to boyfriend. In a weird way all the negative press has really opened her eyes and will be good for her!"
Good for you, Taylor! And if she needs inspiration about who to date next, she can check out some suggestions from HollywoodLife.com here.
Taylor's Songs About Her Ex-Boyfriends
Taylor cannot be entirely surprised that people poke fun, as she is quick to jump to guitar the minute one of her relationships goes south. Her song "Should've Said No" is about her high school boyfriend, "Forever and Always" is about Joe Jonas, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" is about Jake Gyllenhaal, "Dear John" is about John Mayer, and finally her most recent hit "I Knew You Were Trouble" is about her most recent ex, Harry.
