Carly Rae has been named the latest celeb to be a judge for Seventeen magazine’s 2013 Pretty Amazing contest, an annual search for well-rounded girls who have accomplished pretty amazing feats! This is an awesome role for Carly, considering last year’s judging panel included Emma Roberts!
Carly’s story is pretty amazing herself, as we all witnessed her teaming up with Justin Bieber and her quick rise to fame. But, of course, it wasn’t always so easy for her! “In college there was a time I felt lost and had the blues. I wanted to write songs, but I didn't know how to make it a career,” she told Seventeen. “But I also knew I'd be happy working eight minimum-wage jobs to try to pull it off. So I was doing every job imaginable to pay rent while I was pursuing this career. I guess I like the hunger of not knowing if things will work out.”
