The star’s stylist, Tara Swennen, shares her frantic tale from the morning of the Oscars, where a last minute change of plans required her to alter KStew’s stunning look — read on to find out what happened, (and how Tara saved the day!).
Kristen Stewart may love to push the envelope on the red carpet at premieres, but for the Oscars she needed the perfect look — after all, the 22-year-old star was given the honor of presenting at the 85th Annual Academy Awards! For the occasion, her longtime stylist, Tara Swennen, dressed the actress in an ethereal, blush Reem Acra gown — but the fact that the star was hobbling on crutches was definitely an obstacle for the stylist!
"My curveball this year was at the Oscars when I found out Kristen needed to use crutches!" Swennen tells The Hollywood Reporter. "I spent the morning of the awards show searching for appropriate flats for her injured foot."
KStew is known for rocking sneakers on the red carpet, but a pair of Converse certainly wouldn’t suffice for the major awards show — and they definitely wouldn’t have matched her intricate gown!
While the morning of the big show might have sent the stylist all across town searching for a solution, the pair of metallic Bloch flats the star wore proved to be the perfect choice — you could hardly tell she wasn’t wearing heels since they worked with the dress so well!
Although Kristen hobbled in on crutches she was still one of our faves at the Oscars — and her stellar styling is exactly what earned Tara Swennen the number 24 spot on The Hollywood Reporter‘s 25 Most Powerful Stylists in Hollywood 3rd Annual List. Along with KStew, Tara also dresses Julie Bowen, Connie Britton and Kaley Cuoco.
