May 30 promises to be an emotional night as huge bands like Aerosmith and New Kids On The Block plug in for a star-studded concert to raise money for those who have been affected by the Boston Marathon Bombings.
Thousands of Boston natives will pack into the TD Garden on May 30 for Boston Strong, a heart-wrenching concert featuring numerous bands and stars that will honor the victims of the April 15 bombings and also raise funds for them and all the others who have been affected by that tragic act of terrorism.
Boston Strong: Who Will Be There?
It’s a night for Boston pride, so tons of huge bands who got their start in Beantown will be on hand repping their city. The bill includes Boston natives Aerosmith, James Taylor, and New Kids On The Block.
Those headliners will be joined by the likes of Jimmy Buffet, Boston (of course), Jason Aldean, Extreme, J Geils Band, Carole King, and Dropkick Murphys, a Boston favorite. Dropkick are actually able to make the event because of the generosity of Boston millionaire Ernie Boch Jr., who paid personally for the band to travel from Denver, Col., where they are currently on tour.
And there’s even a chance that Mark Wahlberg and the Funky Bunch will reunite for the show!
Comedians Dane Cook and Steven Wright will also perform, as those affected by the Boston Marathon bombings are properly and thoroughly honored.
Boston Strong Benefitting The One Fund
All proceeds of Boston Strong will go to The One Fund. The One Fund was formed by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston. As of now, The One Fund has raised over $31 million.
There definitely won’t be a dry eye inside the TD Garden on May 30, but it will also be an enormous show of strength and support.
It all kicks off at 7 PM ET. Will you be watching?
