Kristen Stewart needs something to keep her busy as she goes through her very public split from Robert Pattinson. Camp X-Ray, Kristen’s new movie, seems to be the perfect way to distract herself.
Kristen Stewart: ‘Camp X-Ray’ Details — K-Stew Gets Spit On In New Movie
The premise of Camp X-Ray goes as follows: "Having escaped from her suffocating small town into the military, Cole (Kristen Stewart) had been hoping for a tour of duty in Iraq. Instead, she's sent to Guantanamo. Met with hatred and abuse from the Muslim men in her charge, Cole finds herself forging an odd friendship with Ali, who has been imprisoned at Gitmo for eight years."
A source close to production, who’s read the script, tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively:
“Kristen plays an army woman named Amy Cole. This role is pretty intense, as she faces some discrimination for being a woman. She gets spit on and gets human waste thrown on her. She’s “one of the guys,” as she’s in the army — chugging beer and wearing camouflaged baggy clothing. At one point, Kristen’s character has some aggressive scenes in which she kicks a guy in the gut and then hits another with her elbow. The detainee she ends up befriending calls her ‘Blondie,’ so she’ll likely be dying her hair blonde for the role. Kristen’s character also has a really emotional scene involving a heaving, convulsing cry — it’s emotional, physical and overall more serious and intense than her roles in the Twilight franchise. Also, Kristen definitely kisses a guy in this movie!”
This sounds like an Oscar-worthy performance!
Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Put 'Twilight' & Relationship Behind Them
Taking part in a deep and emotional movie is the perfect way for Kristen to get over her heartbreak after her split from Rob.
"Usually [Rob and Kristen] would have a Twilight film to bring them back together," a pal told Us Weekly. However,"they both have projects that will take them away from each other for months."
This is the perfect opportunity to help Kristen get over Rob and move on with her life.
Production is still casting — Kristen is the only actor announced thus far.
Production on Camp X-Ray is set to take place in Los Angeles, CA and will begin principal photography on July 15, 2013.
