The former ‘Teen Mom’ star has changed her tune. Although she initially pleaded not guilty to her alleged DUI, Farrah is now entering a plea deal to avoid jail time. Are YOU shocked?
Farrah Abraham has been making headlines more for her “personal videos” than her personal legal troubles, but the Teen Mom-turned-porn star is due back in court on June 20 for her St. Patrick’s Day DUI arrest. And even though she vehemently denied any wrongdoing, the former MTV reality star is changing her tune.
Farrah Abraham’s DUI Plea Deal
Farrah is expected to enter her June 20 court date pleading guilty to her aggravated DUI charge from an arrest back in March, according to TMZ. If approved by the judge, prosecutors will ask for Farrah’s driving privileges to be suspended, according to TMZ. She will also be slapped with a $500 fine — chump change, considering her six-figure deal with Vivid Entertainment. But her plea deal will keep the single mom out of jail.
Her other charges — disorderly conduct and refusing to take a field sobriety test — would also be dropped.
Farrah Abraham: I Was Sick, Not Drunk Night Of DUI Arrest
The mom to Sophia, 4, originally said she wasn’t guilty the night of her arrest. She chalked up her breathalyzer results, which were nearly twice the legal limit, to her having a cold.
"It was St. Patrick's Day and I was out with my sister. I did not plan to drink because I was sick, so I took the role of being in charge and making sure my sister and I would return home together and safely. At 10 p.m., I tried to leave, and at that time, my sister was not ready to leave, so I had been sipping on drinks to pass the time,” Farrah told InTouch.
"They insisted on the regular questions and asked me to get out of the car. I got out of the car, and because I was upset, I yelled. Because I'm sick, I could not give an accurate breathalyzer test, due to coughing and shortage of breath,” she added.
At least Farrah will (hopefully) avoid jail time so she can focus on other pursuits – namely, a new reality show.
