It’s been a while since we’ve heard from both Selena and Miley — in terms of their music, anyway — and now, both former Disney stars have released new singles for summer! The battle is on: Whose single is better?
Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus have been in the news plenty in the last year because of their on-and-off relationships with Justin Bieber and Liam Hemsworth, respectively, but their music careers were put on the back burner. Now both girls are back in the music scene and are beginning to release new singles, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez Release Sexy Singles
Talk about interesting timing. Miley and Selena released new singles this week, both of which involve sexy beats and provocative lyrics. Miley’s is being questioned for making a reference to drugs and Selena’s is rumored to be about Justin, which would get teenage girls’ blood flowing. Her lyrics include: “I just wanna feel your body right next to mine/All night long.” Clearly, both of these girls have grown out of their squeaky-clean Disney roots!
While both songs are suggestively similar, their titles have ironically contradicting song titles: Selena’s is called “Slow Down” and Miley’s is called “We Can’t Stop.” So many funny coincidences!
Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez: Coincidence In Titles And Timing
As if the strangely contradicting titles and extremely similar timing aren’t coincidental enough, there’s another interesting Miley vs. Selena situation lingering between the two. In the midst of Miley’s reported breakup with Liam, HollywoodLife.com reported that Miley was in the studio with Justin Bieber on May 16 and the two presented a Billboard Music Award together days later — and Selena doesn’t like it one bit!
Selena has expressed concerns about Miley spending time with Justin in the past, including when they worked together on Punk’d back in November 2012. Could the timing of Selena’s “Slow Down” release be because of Miley’s recent single release?
The happenstances surrounding Miley’s and Selena’s singles may be befuddling, but one thing is for sure: we love them both! Now that both stars of ex-Disney fame are back on the music scene and the competition has begun again, who’s single is better? We can’t decide!
