Michelle Chamuel Gets Inspiration From Taylor Swift
When Taylor showed up at rehearsals, Michelle couldn’t believe she was performing a Taylor Swift song in front of the superstar herself! Michelle said Taylor wasn’t necessarily an inspiration because of what she said — just being in her presence was inspiration enough!
“Her presence in the room, her just listening and me needing to amp it up because she was there helped me get the performance that I needed to get. I was trying to get some more before she was there and I was hitting my head against the wall trying to get this performance to feel right and sound right, and then she came in and it was inspiration. I'm just so grateful that she shared her time and her insight,” she told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Even when she messed up in front of Taylor, Michelle said Taylor was completely cool and supportive!
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, I just messed it up in front of Taylor Swift.’ She was very encouraging and she was like, ‘No you did great, do that.’ So then I listened back to what happened and I was like, ‘If she says 'do that,’ cool. I'm listening,’” she said.
What Michelle Chamuel Has Learned From Usher
There’s no doubt having Usher as a coach and mentor makes life pretty great for Michelle, and she couldn’t be happier that she picked Usher as her coach from the get-go (she had the choice between him, Adam Levine and Shakira).
“He leads by example so (he’s taught me) to be a conscientious person and a hard worker and someone who takes things in stride and tries to, do the best he can at every given moment,” she said. “He's just a great coach and I really appreciate his time and guidance.”
