Today’s an important day for Edward Cullen: The sexy vampire who stole our hearts in the ‘Twilight’ movies turns 112! While he is celebrating with his sparkly and gorgeous family, we are naming the top five reasons we’ll always be Team Edward.
Even though his flawless face will never age, that doesn’t mean Edward Cullen won’t technically get older. Everyone’s favorite Twilight vampire was born June 20, 1901, a day which won’t be forgotten. For his special day, we decided to list the reasons why we’ll always love Bella’s soulmate.
5 Reasons We Love Edward Cullen
1. Edward Cullen is strong, yet sensitive:
He’s sweet, smart, and unbelievably gorgeous. He loves Bella unconditionally and has saved her own countless occasions. From his quoting of Shakespeare to his piano skills, this guy is just perfect.
2. His undying devotion to Bella Swan:
The love story is at the center of it all. Even when Bella thought he was gone for good in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, he was just trying to protect her from the dangers he thought he brought in her life. He let her make her own decision regarding her relationship with Jacob. He made us swoon over his proposal to Bella. Basically, Edward is just an all-around great guy who forces all the other guys to step up their game.
3. Edward is an amazing dad:
This incredible dad literally delivered his own daughter, Renesmee — which was epic enough for us — but then he also protected his daughter at all costs against the Volturi!
4. His restraint around human Bella:
Even in the multiple times Bella was a bloody mess, Edward never went too far and sucked her dry. That takes skill, Edward — one that we definitely admire.
5. His sparkly skin:
The hot vampire has the most beautiful skin, ever. He sparkles in the sun and his flawless features are often referred as god-like by Bella. Count us as jealous.
We will miss this swoon-worthy vamp on the big screen, but we thankfully have the Twilight books and DVDs for eternity. So, happy birthday, Edward Cullen. For all you Twi-hards, we’re taking it back to where we first fell in love with the selfless vamp: when he used his superhuman powers to save Bella from being hit by a van!
