The singer spilled on what it was really like meeting the songstress, who just so happens to be a HUGE fan of the ‘Idol’ winner! Could they be making sweet music together?
While attending the Target + FEED USA launch in Brooklyn, New York on June 19, Phillip Phillips, 22, talked about his experience meeting Taylor Swift, 22, and his desire to collab with the songstress! He also dished on joining John Mayer on tour.
Phillip Phillips Taylor Swift Collaboration?
The season 11 winner of American Idol recently met Taylor at the MuchMusic Awards on June 16 in Toronto, and he was not shy about their encounter! He tweeted a photo of the two with the caption,”I know a little secret.” The photo has the “Red” singer whispering something into Phillips ear … could this secret have something to do with a musical collaboration? We sure hope so!
When asked how it was meeting Taylor he responded, “She was really nice, told me she was a big fan and it was really cool.” The blonde beauty didn’t give too much advice for the artist, whose rapid rose to stardom happened last year. However, he did say he would be totally open to collaborate with Taylor.
“I’m really up for anything. I’m one of those people who loves music and I’m always down to get together with different artists. So yeah, I would definitely love to do something with Taylor,” he reveals.
Phillip Phillips Touring With John Mayer:
We met up with Phillip at the Old Tobacco Warehouse where Target and FEED USA teamed up to create a consumer line combating hunger in America. The guest performer also dished on his upcoming tour with John, 35. Even though Taylor and John may have history we would still love to see him team up with either of the artists.
“I’m actually going on tour with John Mayer this summer so maybe we’ll see something cool happen there,” he says with a subtle smile. Is he hinting at yet another musical match made in heaven?
We’re crossing our fingers for that one! We would love to see any of the artists make music together, but nothing got us more excited than the last artist he mentioned a love for: Dave Matthews! Often compared to the Dave Matthews Band based on their similar sound, Phillips says he doesn’t mind it at all.
“I’ve actually met Dave [Matthews] a few times and he’s a really funny, cool guy. I do get that a lot though. It doesn’t bother me because I’m a fan myself and really respect his music. A collaboration with him is something I would most defiantly do,” he gushes.
