During a pretrial hearing on July 3, Ariel Castro asked permission to visit the six-year-old daughter he fathered with Amanda Berry during the ten years he held her hostage in his Cleveland basement.
Ariel Castro begged Cleveland judge Michael Russo to see his daughter, Jocelyn, 6, during a pretrial hearing on July 3. Ariel, 52, has been indicted on over 300 counts, including rape, kidnapping and aggravated murder for holding Jocelyn’s mother Amanda Berry along with Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight captive in his basement for over a decade.
Ariel Castro Requests To See Daughter
Ariel asked Judge Russo if he could see Jocelyn on July 3, and the judge replied “I just think that would be inappropriate,” as reported by The Daily Mail.
It is not surprising that the judge denied this request, because at the trial Ariel was deemed competent to stand trial, because he is mentally able to understand the charges and assist attorneys in his defense.
Ariel Castro Indicted
A Cuyahoga County Grand Jury previously indicted Ariel on 329 counts. The accused kidnapper was indicted for one count of aggravated murder for beating Michelle to purposely cause her to miscarry their child.
He was also indicted on 139 counts of rape, 177 counts of kidnapping, seven counts of gross sexual imposition, three counts of felonious assault, and one count of possession of criminal tools.
Considering the length of what he has been charged with, it is not at all surprising the judge refused him access to Jocelyn.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are YOU shocked that Ariel wanted to visit his little girl? Should he have been granted one?
