‘Divergent’ took Comic-Con by storm, and the stars of Hollywood’s next young-adult blockbuster served major scoop on their upcoming film!

Divergent doesn’t hit theaters until March 22, 2014, so we’re basically craving any and all scoops on this soon-to-be blockbuster hit. The stars of the post-apocalyptic film — based on the books by best-selling author Veronica Roth – hit up their very first Comic-Con panel July 18, and it was better than you could ever imagine.

5 Things To Take Away From ‘Divergent’ Panel

1. First footage from Divergent

Although Divergent just finished filming less than a week before Comic-Con, fans were treated to the very first footage of the film! The clip starts at the beginning of Tris’ (Shailene Woodley) journey into the Dauntless faction with initiation, where Tris is forced to catch a moving train and jump from the top of a building down into her faction home.

When she lands at the bottom, we get our first look at her soon-to-be love interest Four (Theo James). There’s also quick glimpses of the crowd surfing in the Dauntless hall, the climbing of the ferris wheel, and Jeanine Matthews (Kate Winslet)!

2. Shailene’s character is NOT a superhero

Divergent’s leading lady Shailene will be the first to tell you her character is not of Superman or Batman’s superhero caliber.

I think Tris is a very normal girl. I get asked a lot about what it feels like to play an action star and superhero and I remember having multiple conversations with Neil [director] before beginning this film and I never saw her as a superhero and I never saw her as an action star. It stars a very young woman who had to figure herself out as well as help her community out around her. She’s a very young woman who is put in very elevated situations and is sort of forced to find herself through those experiences and I thought that was cool opportunity.

3. Hop aboard the Tris and Four love train

For those of you who haven’t dived into Divergent, Tris and Four’s love story is a major part of the book. The chemistry between them is palpable. When asked if their love story had been accurately portrayed in the film, author Veronica said she avoided the set during their “smoochy” scenes because it seemed “voyeuristic.”

Theo also joked that he is just as protective of Shailene as Four is of Tris — even saying he wouldn’t let her use the bathroom without him standing outside the door! We wouldn’t complain about that, Theo. Not at all.

4. There’s a plethora of eye candy

In addition to Theo, who is practically a perfect human being, there are quite a number of hotties on the cast list. Ansel Elgort, Miles Teller, Ben Lamb, and Ben Lloyd-Hughes all rounded out Divergent’s sexy Comic-Con panel. Oh, what it would be like to be Shailene.

5. New scoop on the third and final book

While Veronica didn’t reveal any plot details about the final book in the trilogy, Allegiant, coming out Oct. 22, she did give us one little tease. Both Divergent and Insurgent are told entirely from Tris’ perspective, but the third book will be told from both Tris and Four’s perspective.

HollywoodLifers, are YOU excited about Divergent? What did you think about the panel? Is Theo as dreamy as you imagined? Let us know what you think!
