Dylan basically single-handedly kicked off Comic-Con on July 18. Not only did he preview serious action on ‘Teen Wolf,’ but also sat down to talk about his new movie ‘The Maze Runner!’

We were already super pumped about Dylan O’Brien‘s upcoming movie The Maze Runner, but after the July 18 Comic-Con panel for the film, we’re more excited than ever! Dylan, along with the director, producer, and author, sat down to preview the movie — and by the end, we were begging for the first trailer.

5 Things We Learned From ‘The Maze Runner’ Panel

1. This is Dylan’s most physical role yet!

When asked about the film’s physical requirements, Dylan said, “It was some of the most exhausting two months of my life, and I don’t know how I got through it.”

Producer Wyck Godfrey said that Dylan worked everyday on set for 14 hours a day.

Despite the physically intense role, Dylan said, “It was very tiring but it was so much fun and the coolest thing I’ve ever gotten to do.”

2. Author James Dashner approves of the film!

Whenever a director decides to bring a bestselling book to the big screen, one of the main goals is to capture the author’s vision and respect. At the panel, James Dashner assured the audience that he more than approves of Wes Ball’s film and its leading man:

I have just been beyond ecstatic about these actors and the director, his vision. He has perfectly caught the tone and spirit of the book and well, since Dylan is here, the guy who caught his character best was Dylan O’Brien.

3. New details on a super-important scene!

For those of you who still haven’t read the book, look away now! James and the other panelists previewed an important scene that the author says is one of his favorites. He even calls it “spectacular.”

The scene where Thomas and everyone sees Minho and Alby trying to escape the maze and get back to the glade before the door shuts and Thomas, our Dylan right here, does something really insane and stupid and runs into the maze when he’s not supposed to. Everything that happens in the next 10 minutes or so in the film is going to be spectacular. You guys are going to love it.

4. Get ready for the blooper reel!

One of the main things we took away from the panel was Dylan saying he “gyrated toward the camera a lot.”

Wait, what?

Wes said that he has “so much footage of Dylan and Blake [plays Chuck] dancing it’s crazy” and to get excited for the blooper reel. If there is footage of Dylan dancing, count us in!

5. Dylan’s superhero of choice is…

Spider-Man! Dylan responded emphatically about his favorite superhero but Wyck just had to remind him that the role had already been taken. However, James jokingly said, “They’ll reboot it in five years so you’ll be fine.” Dylan as a superhero? We think yes.
