In a new clip from ‘KUWTK,’ Kim actually discusses why she and Kanye decided to go against the family tradition and not name their daughter a with a K-name! Watch the video here to see why Kim thought naming her daughter with a K-name might start horrible KKK nicknames!
The Kardashians are big fans of K-names, so we were all at least a little surprised when Kim Kardashian named her and Kanye West‘s daughter North West – there’s not a K in sight! Though Kim considered starting her baby girl’s name with a K — in true Kardashian style — she actually feared comparisons to the white supremacist group, the Ku Klux Klan.
Kim Kardashian Reveals Fear Of Being Called ‘The KKK’
In the teaser video for Keeping Up With The Kardashians, a still-pregnant Kim explained that she and boyfriend Kanye West ”kind of” wanted to name their baby with a name starting with the letter K, — especially since she and Kanye both have K-names. She decided against it because of some serious concerns:
“Our kid, if it’s a K, then they’ll call us the KKK,” Kim worries in the video clip.
Brody Jenner quickly dismisses her concerns, responding with ”that’s a little crazy.”
Would anyone actually make that connection?
Kim Kardashian, Brody Jenner, & Kourtney Kardashian Love The Name North
So if not a K-name, what’s another possibility? “I’m feeling North. North West,” Brody goes on to say in the clip. Kourtney quickly agreed — and Kim’s baby-naming gears quickly got turning. What a great foreshadowing of North West’s unique name!
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Kim have gone with a K-name? Or were her fears about the KKK reference legit?
