Ready for round two? MTV just announced that the second half of Awkward‘s third season will premiere Tuesday, Oct. 22! That means we’re just two months away from finding out how Jenna’s (Ashley Rickards) affair with Collin (Nolan Funk) will affect her relationships with everyone in her life — especially with Matty (Beau Mirchoff). And you’d better prepare yourselves; he’s a crier.
‘Awkward’ Scoop: Friendships Will Be ‘Tried’
HollywoodLife.com caught up with Jillian Rose Reed at the 2013 Young Hollywood Awards for the scoop on what’s to come in the aftermath of Jenna’s affair, and she confirmed our fears: Things are about to get dark.
“These back 10 kind of take a turn for the character Jenna,” Jillian told us. “She’ll go to a little bit of a darker place, and Tamara being her best friend is going to be joining her on that ride. You’ll get to see a lot of friendships being tried, plus a lot of relationship stuff with her and Jake, still figuring out where they are and what they’re doing in love.”
However, Jillian urged us not to jump on the Jenna hate-wagon just yet.
“Everyone’s been there. Everyone’s gone through hardships, especially in high school. People are going to judge; they want to see Jenna succeed.”
