‘Delena’ fans, prepare to have a major bombshell dropped on your favorite couple in season five — more specifically, a blond bombshell!
Vampire Diaries fans have been so preoccupied wondering how Silas/Stefan (Paul Wesley) could possibly come between Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) in season five that we haven’t even considered the possibility of a third suitor entering the picture — until now!
A handsome co-ed named Aaron (Shaun Sipos) will befriend Elena at school, E! Online reports, and it sounds like he could become much more than just a study buddy. The two will reportedly bond over their shared family tragedies — I doubt his can hold a candle, or even a match, to Elena’s — and there’s a good chance he’ll be sticking around for a while.
For those of you wondering how Elena could possibly leave Damon for Aaron, let’s not forget, he’s totally her type. After all, she did date Matt (Zach Roerig) in a previous, vampire-less life.
Elena & Damon Breaking Up In Season 5?
Despite Aaron’s intrusion into Elena’s life, it sounds like she and Damon will be going strong when season five resumes in October — at first, anyway.
“It's been a fun summer for Elena and Damon,” executive producer Julie Plec said during an interview at Comic-Con earlier this summer. ”And Elena's going to college now, so they're going to try to make the long-distance thing work.”
Making their long-distance relationship work probably seemed much easier before Aaron entered the picture!
