Lamar Odom tragically continues to spiral out of control. An alleged drug problem, a crumbling marriage and a DUI arrest on Aug. 30 have likely left Lamar in the hardest period of his life. And it just gets worse — even though a report claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers had offered Lamar a contract, a source tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively that the truth is much more bleak. Lamar Odom: Is His NBA Career Over? “The story is not true,” the source tells us. A report on Aug. 29 claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers had offered Lamar a deal to play for them on the condition that he go to rehab, but the insider is adamant that that isn’t the case: “They wasn’t offered a roster spot if he goes to rehab.” Unfortunately, the source explains, the NBA is a business, and NBA teams don’t make business deals out of the goodness of their hearts: Are they concerned about his well-being? Without a doubt. But the NBA is a business and Lamar’s problems are not a good business decision for the team. The Lakers didn’t offer him a spot. Lamar Odom: Will His Marriage With Khloe Kardashian End? Shutting down this glimmer of hope is just throwing salt on Lamar’s enormous wound. After getting arrested for a DUI on Aug. 30, another source told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Lamar’s increasing problems are putting his marriage with Khloe Kardashian on an extremely thin line. “Everybody is going to bat for this guy and he turns around and does something stupid this like,” the source asserted. “I don’t know how much more Khloe can take.” Lamar’s downward spiral has been awful to witness, but hopefully — with the unbelievable support of Khloe — he can turn things around.
