The ‘Real Housewife of New Jersey’ has been shut down! The Giudices reportedly submitted a plea deal for Teresa to avoid jail time in their massive fraud case, but the prosecutors were having none of it.

It looks like Teresa Giudice is going to be in this fight for the long haul. Just before appearing in court and pleading not guilty to 39 counts of fraud and tax evasion on August 14, Teresa and her husband, Joe Giudice, reportedly tried to make a deal with the prosecutor that would have let Teresa avoid going to jail (key word: tried).

Teresa Giudice Can’t Make A Deal To Avoid Prison

“Teresa and Joe’s defense team submitted a plea deal on Wednesday but the US Attorney denied it,” a source told Radar Online. “Teresa wanted a plea deal that keeps her out of jail so she offered to do anything else BUT jail time and have Joe serve all the time in jail. The prosecutor dismissed the deal outright.”

Wow, so apparently Teresa doesn’t have any problem with letting Joe take the fall! Unfortunately for her though, the US Attorney has a problem with it. “The prosecutor has said that if she wants to plead it out she has to do the jail time,” the insider asserted.

Teresa may play an unwitting housewife on TV, but the prosecutor reportedly believes that she had more than a little knowledge of the alleged fraud: “They believe the evidence will show that Teresa can’t play dumb,” says the source. “She was in cahoots with Joe and was just as much a part of orchestrating the scam as he was.”

Teresa & Joe Giudice Plead Not Guilty

Oddly enough, after failing to make a deal (which often suggests a semblance of guilt), Teresa and Joe both pleaded not guilty to all 39 counts they have been charged with on August 14.

The reality TV couple’s next court date is scheduled for October 8, a preliminary trial date that is subject to change because of the complexity of the case, according to NJ.com.

The Giudice drama never stops, even when the cameras turn off. What do you think of Teresa’s alleged rejected plea deal, HollywoodLifers? Let us know!
