How awkward! Dan Marino will face the nation, when he takes part in CBS’ pre-game Super Bowl coverage on Feb. 3 as planned, days after his affair was exposed. Find out why I think CBS has to can Dan!

Dan Marino admitted to the world that he cheated on his wife of 28 years, Claire, with Donna Savattere, a former production assistant at CBS Sports. Dan and Donna had a secret love childChloe, 7, born in June 2005, and as a result, he’s now embarrassed his entire family! Dan doesn’t deserve to get national coverage on CBS on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3.

Not only did Dan pay his mistress millions to keep quiet, but he kept the secret from his wife and six children for seven years! What a disgrace!

The Super Bowl is such an American tradition, as pure as apple pie. Having Dan cover the biggest sports event of the year would feel so wrong. The Super Bowl is a family-friendly event. What kind of message is CBS sending by having an adulterer represent the voice of the pre-game coverage? The network banned Janet Jackson from appearing at the Grammy Awards in 2004 after she accidentally exposed her nipple (covered by a pasty) and chose not to apologize. What makes this so different? Is it preferential treatment?

“Dan has said all there is to say on this matter, and will be in his usual role on our broadcast Super Bowl Sunday,” CBS said in a statement on Thursday Jan. 31.

Dan also has six children with his wife Claire: Daniel, 26, Michael, 24, Joseph, 23, Ali, 20, Lia, 17, and Niki, 16. These kids must be so ashamed of their father. They have a sibling they never knew about! That sort of news would rock anyone’s core!

Because this news is so fresh and the Super Bowl is such a big event, I feel that CBS needs to can Dan!

Dan, 51, confirmed the affair on Jan. 30, saying in a statement: “This is a personal and private matter. I take full responsibility both personally and financially for my actions now as I did then. We mutually agreed to keep our arrangement private to protect all parties involved.”

"My wife and I have been married for almost 30 years and have six children together," he wrote on Jan. 30, his 28th wedding anniversary. “And we continue to be a strong and loving family,” Dan continued in his statement.

Other notable sports stars who have had affairs in the past involve Tiger Woods and Tiki Barber.

What do YOU think, HollyMoms? Should Dan be canned from the Super Bowl?
