An Atlanta middle school student, 14, was hospitalized after being shot in the head outside of Price Middle School in Atlanta. The victim was allegedly shot in the head by a fellow student, and was rushed to nearby Grady Hospital, Atlanta Fire Department Capt. Marian McDaniel says.
The injured student was taken to Grady Hospital “alert, conscious and breathing,” Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos says. He also added that all other students at the school are safe.
A teacher was also hurt during the incident, but suffered minor cuts and bruises and was treated at the scene, Cpt. Marian McDaniel says. He also adds that the teen was shot in the head.
The suspect and the victim are both male students at Price Middle School, and the suspect has been arrested and apprehended. Price Middle School and nearby Carver High School and Slater Elementary School were placed on lockdown. Parents were advised not to arrive at the scene so as to prevent confusion to the area.
Such a tragic situation. We hope the victim has a safe and speedy recovery.
