Lady Gaga has had to cancel the remaining dates on her Born This Way Ball tour on Feb. 13, after revealing that a severe hip injury will require surgery! What a bummer!
After postponing a handful of concert dates on Feb. 12, Lady Gaga had announced that the injury forcing her to push back her Born This Way Ball Tour will, in fact, sideline the entire show. On Feb. 13, the pop singer revealed that the remaining shows would have to be canceled and refunded as she must undergo an intense surgery to repair a tear of her right hip!
The 26-year-old singer’s rep told People magazine, “After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.”
Lady Gaga’s Facebook Apology
Mother Monster took to Facebook on the 12th, when news of injury was first released, to express her disappointment over letting her fans down. “I barely know what to say,” she wrote. “I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for some time now, [and] over the past month it has worsened. I’ve been praying it would heal. I hid it from my staff. I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However, after last night’s performance I could not walk and still can’t.”
She continued, “I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. I’m devastated & sad. It will hopefully heal as soon as possible. I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and I’m sorry.”
Refunds for the canceled performances will be made available at the point of purchase, beginning on Feb. 14.
