President Barack Obama spoke passionately to the country during the 2013 State of the Union address, and as he spoke about important issues like gun control and climate change, we kept waiting for more reaction shots of his beautiful wife Michelle Obama! Michelle debuted her new bangs on Jan. 17 and just about one month later, on Feb. 12, she’s proving how well her new hairstyle fits her fun personality!
Michelle looks to have trimmed her bangs since the Inauguration. They look a little thinner and more spikey. Definitely fun and young but also chic and sophisticated!
Her hair had tons of volume with a slight curl towards her face at the bottom of the hair.
Michelle rocked thick black eyeliner on the top of her eyelids and a light, shimmery shadow.
She wore a pretty pink gloss that really stood out on camera. We think she looked totally amazing!
Michelle Obama’s Bangs Backlash
Not everyone is a fan of Michelle’s new haircut.
Outspoken Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld, 79, spoke out against Michelle’s bangs on Jan. 24. While a guest on French TV show Le Petit Journal, he said:
“I adore Madame Obama. . . [but] I do not understand the change in hairstyle. Frankly this doesn’t suit her. The fringe was not a good idea, it’s not good.”
Michelle Obama’s Pretty Dress At The State Of The Union
Michelle wore one of her favorite designers, Jason Wu, for the important night. The burgundy sleeveless dress showed off her toned arms — we loved it!
