It was rock and roll week on the April 3 episode of ‘American Idol.’ Some contestants rocked while others flopped. Read the full recap below.

The top 7 took on classic rock songs while judges Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey, Keith Urban and Randy Jackson listened intently. Plus, is a love connection forming between Burnell Taylor and Amber Holcolm?

The Top 7 Sing Rock & Roll

Burnell Taylor sang "Shot Through The Heart." "I've never seen you look more uncomfortable up there," Keith said. "Even outside your genre, stay Burnell because that's what people are voting for," Nicki said. Randy said he was behind the tempo.

Lazaro and Angie did a duet to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.” Lazaro sort of forgot the words…again. “Overall, not bad,” Nicki said. “Angie you sounded really good. Lazaro, you got better as the song went on,” Randy said. “It wasn’t a great duet for me,” Keith said.

Kree Harrison was toted as the mother hen and the hugger of the group! She sang “Piece Of My Heart” by Janis Joplin. “I feel like the show finally started tonight. That’s whats up Kree! She’s in it to win it.” Randy said. “Incredible!” raved Mariah. After Keith said he felt like she was holding back, she admitted she has a pinched nerve! “That was magnificent!” Nicki said.

Candice Glover & Burnell sang “The Letter” and got a standing ovation from Keith and Randy! “I love it! Your voice is amazing, Candice,” Keith said. “Your voice is clearly superior, Candice,” Nicki said.

Janelle Arthur sang “You May Be Crazy.” Keith said, “I love how you work the stage. You come out like a professional. I don’t think that was the best song for you.” Randy called her “the great contender.”

Lazaro Arbos sang Queen’s “We Are The Champions.” Nicki said: “I was loving that. It was crack juice. That’s a classic song. You did it justice.” Randy said, “Can’t lie. You did a good job.”

Amber, Janelle and Kree performed “It’s Still Rock & Roll To Me” together. “That was unbelievable,” Randy said. “America is going to have a tough time deciding,” Mariah said. Nicki said she was bored and hated the performance.

Candice revealed her April Fools joke backfired leaving her with a broken toe. She sang “Can’t Get No Satisfaction.” Mariah said, “It’s mesmerizing to see you on stage.”

Amber Holcolm & Burnell Taylor Dating – ‘American Idol’ Stars In Love?

While Amber’s package was running, Burnell expressed he’s got a crush! They would be such a cute couple!

Amber Holcomb sang “What About Love” to a standing ovation from the judges! Nicki said it was her favorite of the night. “You look amazing, you sound amazing. It was a great song choice,” Randy said.

Angie Miller sang “Bring Me To Life,” starting at the piano. “I think this was a perfect choice for you,” Nicki said. “I want to make sure you feel the song,” Keith said. “Don’t be so conscious about the way you look.”
