Kim and Kris will be face t0 face for the first time in almost a year and a half when they meet in court in Los Angeles on April 19. A source close to the Humphries family tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY how a settlement could finally be achieved.
Up until now, Kris Humphries has been adamant that he wants an annulment, not a divorce following his 72-day marriage to Kim Kardashian.

Settlement discussions have proved fruitless thus far , primarily because Kris hasn’t been the least bit interested in a monetary settlement and in fact, he has never asked nor demanded $7 million from Kim, as has been reported elsewhere, according to our source.
However, when Kim and Kris are finally in the same room together in front of a judge, and can speak directly to each other instead of through their lawyers, a breakthrough could be accomplished, the source believes. It will be affecting for them to be physically close to each other after not setting eyes on one another for such a long period of time, after having been married.
“It’s only natural that emotions will run very high in the room. So much has happened for them both in their lives since the divorce filing and they are both in different frames of mind,” says the source, who points out that the judge can act as a non-biased mediator.
Can Kim convince Kris That She Truly Married Him For Love?
Kim and Kris could be swayed from their hard-line positions.
“It’s a chance for Kim to prove to Kris that he’s been wrong about what her marital intentions were,” the source said. “If she apologizes to him, Kris is a forgiving person and there could be a settlement. However, if Kris walks away and feels that Kim is just full of it, he’ll go forward with the trial.”
In any case, the source believes that there will 100% be tears shed in the emotion-charged courtroom.
