Miley Cyrus is going to beat us over the head with a rock (literally) until we get the message. A source close to the singer tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the picture she posted showing off her huge engagement ring on May 15 was meant to silence the whispers.
Miley Cyrus’ Engagement Ring Tweet For ‘The Haters’
“The picture was definitely a message to the haters,” the source says. The Twitter photo is of Miley with her photographer friend Vijat Mohindra and her gigantic diamond ring is — apparently purposely — front and center.
“Miley is trying not to overshare on social media because it’s something that has always been an issue between her and Liam Hemsworth,” the source explains. “She promised him she would be more private, but she can’t help herself once in awhile — especially because she’s feeling super confident right now.”
Miley Cyrus’ Engagement Ring: A Source For Drama
Miley’s 3.5 karat ring is usually the thing that stirs up all the rumors that she’s actually single! While reports previously claimed that Miley and Liam were postponing their wedding, pictures that surfaced of the Hannah Montana singer without her ring made many believe that she and Liam were calling off the engagement altogether.
She has been seen ringless as recently as April 18, when she posted a different picture on Twitter.
The singer has addressed her on-off relationship with her engagement ring before, claiming that she’s had to shed it once to have it cleaned. And talking to Elle UK, she said, “It just seems right to be wearing this ring and to be committed. But we keep our relationship low-key and don't talk about it any more."
