It’s been quite the year for Seth. Career-wise, he’s been extremely successful — and now, he’s about to get married for the first time!
Seth Meyers and Alexi Ashe are officially getting married! The future Late Night host is off the market.
Seth Meyers Engaged To Alexi Ashe
Sorry, ladies! Seth, 39, has popped the question to his long-time girlfriend Alexi, Us Weekly reports.
“He’s very excited for the next phase of his life,” a source told the magazine. “He’s known that she’s The One for awhile, but it was all about timing. With Late Night, his schedule will be slowly easing up. He wanted to do it after SNL wrapped [because] he didn’t want to be an absentee fiance. Her family loves him.”
Timing is on his side, right now. He just finished his final season of Saturday Night Live, and will be taking Jimmy Fallon‘s place as the host of Late Night beginning in 2014. So it’s the perfect time for planning a wedding with Alexi, a human-rights lawyer.
Seth & Alexi’s Wedding: A Long Time Coming
The couple has been dating since meeting at a wedding several years back. In 2011, a source told Us that the couple would be tying the knot soon!
“They are incredibly solid,” the source said. “Marriage is on the horizon.”
In September 2012, Seth opened up to Elle magazine just how much he’s crazy about Alexi.
“She works for the Brooklyn district attorney fighting sex trafficking,” he told Elle. “It really takes away my ability to say I had a hard day at work.”
He went on to explain that he’s the emotional one in his relationship:
When my girlfriend and I talk about being happy, I’ll get choked up, which I think is the greatest gift you can give a girlfriend… I do see [engagement] in my future. When in my future—that’s less clear. But I do see it. Until then, I’m going to do a lot of crying to fill the time.
Apparently, “when” is right now!
